Debate/Public Speaking & Re:Solved

Branksome Hall has a distinguished reputation for Debate and Public Speaking, with students excelling locally, nationally and  internationally. Branksome has won three World Individual Debating and Public Speaking Championships, including two consecutively in 2024 and 2025. This tradition of excellence inspires  students  to examine evidence, think on their feet and express ideas with confidence and conviction, while listening closely and engaging respectfully with peers who have different perspectives.

Your gift will strengthen Branksome’s Debate and Public Speaking program by offering our students expert personalized coaching and subsidized travel, helping students develop their skills and access the challenge of competition. A dedicated trophy and achievement display will honour the preparation, perseverance and accomplishments behind Branksome’s Debate and Public Speaking tradition. It will make student role models visible and will inspire the next generation to participate and excel.

Support will also advance Re:Solved, Branksome’s free international Public Speaking Competition. By welcoming young people from different countries to Toronto, Re:Solved helps democratize competitive persuasive  speaking and offer our students as well as those in the Ontario public speaking community an opportunity to witness at Branksome the top young speakers in the world. Together, these investments build students’ confidence to articulate persuasively and cultivate thoughtful, informed dialogue.
